The one where you get to know me

I was born in Turkey on 12 February 1995, and I speak Turkish, French and English.

I didn’t start photography as a child, and I don’t have a very long history behind me either. I started photographing the streets in 2022. A year later I bought a camera, simply because I wanted to see where it could take me. It’s still the one I use today.

Before photography I studied architecture at university. When I was younger I also drew a great deal. I have always liked making things, and looking at what is around me from a fairly visual place.

When I finally left architecture, I was probably looking for another way to keep that creative part of me. Photography naturally became that place.

What interests me is fairly simple: I like beautiful things.

A good light. An expression. A detail on a building. The colours of a street. A movement. A moment between two people. Sometimes there is a whole story in front of me. Sometimes it is just a second that strikes me as interesting.

Mostly, I try to notice them.

When I work on something more editorial, particularly with a model, I like to build the picture and pay attention to everything inside the frame: the light, the colours, the composition, the details.

But for a wedding, a couple, an event, or simply people in their everyday life, I generally prefer to let things happen. I like watching what is going on and being there at the right moment rather than fitting everything into a pose.

I don’t really like photographs that feel too far from reality.

And yes, there is usually music during my sessions.

Paris has its own place in all of this. It is a city I dreamed about as a child. Even now I can go out with my camera and find that same excitement. I like its chaos, its architecture, its streets, its light, its people, and the fact that something is always happening somewhere.

When I’m not taking photographs I’m usually thinking about architecture, listening to music, watching or playing a bit of sport, trying to run slightly more than I actually do, or cooking something I probably didn’t need.

That’s me. A photographer in Paris, still looking for his own eye, trying to get a little better every day, and above all looking for something beautiful to photograph.

When I’m not working, I walk the city with a camera around my neck and no destination in mind. That’s how I find most of the places I later suggest to clients.

I believe a good photo starts with a conversation. I take time to learn who you are before I raise the camera. That’s what makes the difference between a pose and a moment.
