Photographer prices in Paris vary enormously, and finding a clear number online isn’t easy. Here’s what actually determines my own prices, and what should determine any serious quote.
Three things that move the price
Duration. The gap between a one-hour couple session and full wedding-day coverage is considerable.
Number of locations. Staying in one spot is nothing like moving between three: the walking and transit time count against the schedule too.
Delivery. The number of photos, the editing turnaround, the level of finishing.
How payment works
I ask for a €100 deposit to confirm the booking, with the balance due on the day of the session, by card, cash, or bank transfer. For a wedding, I can set up a payment schedule.
What to watch out for
Be wary of “€50 session” listings. Usually only a handful of unedited photos are included, and everything else is billed as an extra or delivered without retouching. Always ask for the total price and the actual number of delivered photos before booking.
Another question worth asking: how long until you receive your photos? In high season, some photographers quote up to two months. Getting your photos months after the trip takes a lot of the joy out of it.
What’s included from the start
Choosing the locations, planning the timing, and a backup plan for bad weather are all built into the price. I don’t charge a separate “planning fee.”
