The problem with a place whose menu changes constantly: you can’t photograph the dishes, they’ll be gone in two weeks. So we had to photograph something else.

Photographing the place, not the menu

We built the series around what doesn’t change: the late-afternoon light on the counter, the hands that pour, the regulars. The menu appears in the background, never as the subject.

Result: a year later, the images are still in use, even though the menu has turned over twenty times.
